Open house poster

So recently I had to come up with an idea for next years UArts Open House poster. Below is my idea on how I want the poster to look.  I had to make a bunch of revisions on it. I like how the end product looks nothing like my original painting. Like all my work I created this in Photoshop. The first one is the finished poster and as you scroll down you can see the edits I had to make. I think all of these are pretty awesome.

Senior Illustration Thesis show...a.k.a The ELYs

First things first. The ELYs a.k.a the senior illustration thesis show. We all work so hard to create four outstanding and strong images to hang in this show. Not to mention it is a big part of our grade... Anyway, this past tuesday was the day we had to hang our work up. That was quite the event. After dropping our work off in the morning, and our teachers deciding where in the gallery we should hang, it took almost 5 hours for all 50 of us seniors to hang our work. Everything had to be perfect! At the end of the day when all the work was hung, it all looked amazing! To see my friends and fellow classmates work hanging up behind shinny glass took my breath away. I am so proud of everyone!

All our work was judged by 3 guest judges who are currently working in the field. The winners were then announced at the show.

SHOW TIME:  The gallery was packed with friends and family. When I first arrived with my family I became so overwhelmed with it all. I have been going to these ELY shows since I was a freshman and it was such an amazing feeling that it was finally my turn to show my work. Everyone loved my work, which made me SO HAPPY! The awards were then given out at the end of the show. Though I didn't win, I am so happy that my friends did.  When it was all over I had a rush of so many different emotions. I felt happy for my friends and how great the show was, I felt sad because it was over, and I felt proud of my class for getting through the tough challenges and obstacles that we all had to endure when creating our ELYs.
